1. Overview
TransKeeper 2000 is a gatekeeper, which provides call control services for H.323 endpoints. Although the gatekeeper is optional, the gatekeeper is the most important of the H.323 components. It provides authorization and authentication, keeps call detail records, ties into network management systems, performs address resolution, monitors the network, manages bandwidth, and provides interfaces to existing legacy systems like user's database and billing server.
The TransKeeper 2000 delivers a full H.323-compliant call control and registration functionality, and supports all mandatory ITU H.323 gatekeeper functions. In addition, it provides enhanced functionality for multiple zones support, multiple gateway operation, resource usage control, call routing, and call processing.
